Early Card in College Admissions June 18, 2013 Dont waste your Early card in college admissions. Dont apply to a school you have no shot of ever getting into. With Early Decision, college applicants only have one shot to get it right. After all, applying Early Decision drastically improves an applicants odds of admission if you compare the Early Decision odds against the Regular Decision odds. Its not even close. So we often wonder at Ivy Coach why so many students not our students of course because we give them better advice than this choose to apply to schools that they have absolutely no shot of ever getting into in their wildest dreams. In our years of experience, we find that many college applicants apply to extreme reach schools because they dont want to ever have to wonder if they could have gotten into Harvard with their ridiculously low SAT score and B+ grades. That, in our opinion, is utterly idiotic. We at Ivy Coach can tell you how Dartmouth will rule on your candidacy just about every time out of ten. Wasting the one card you have in highly selective college admissions so that you can sleep well knowing that you gave a school like Dartmouth your best shot is ridiculous. Great. You find out you didnt get into Dartmouth and you have to apply to a host of other universities. Wouldnt it have been quite a lot better if you applied to a reach school that you actually have a shot of getting into through Early Decision? Doesnt that make good sense? It should if it doesnt! Dont waste your Early card in college admissions. If youre applying Early even though you dont think you have a chance, you probably dont have a chance. So dont use up the one card in your back pocket. Use it on a school you actually have a shot at but would still be a bit of a stretch. Not an extreme stretch. Just a bit of a stretch. Thats the way to capitalize on whats in your back pocket. Its that simple!

Summary Of The Bluest Eye And Where We Once Belonged

Drawing inspiration from Toni Morrison’s The Bluest Eye, Sia Figiel utilizes some of the same techniques and covers similar themes in her novel Where we Once Belonged which primarily centers around Alofa, a girl growing up in a village Samoa. Although the narrative voices of Claudia from The Bluest Eye and Alofa from Where we Once Belonged differ in their presence and focus, they both offer a young female adolescent’s perspective on life in their communities and how the influences of different cultural expectations affect their own identity. Throughout high school, I had always thought my experience would’ve been more enjoyable if I had the choice of open lunch. Every day I had despised walking to the lunch room knowing I would be served a food that I disliked. Now what If we were all able to pick the food of our choice? I think Wood County Schools should allow students to have off campus lunches, therefore the students could leave the campus to get the food of their choice. In this case, students can choose their lunch without having the fear of what type of â€Å"mystery meat† will be served every day at 12:15 in the lunchroom.
